PACK ENTERPRISES Is a family owned, veteran owned business which specializes in tag trailers (tag axles) for pickup trucks.
The first tag was designed in 2003 for personal use. After may thousands of miles of use and requests from fellow travelers, a new upgraded tag model was designed for sale.
Request for Interpretation by NHTSA resulted in designation as Weight Distribution Truck Camper Trailer (WDTCT) also known as WDTT (Weight Distribution Tag Trailer).
Sales of WDTT started July 1,2019.
Patent Issued, October 2021.
Pack Enterprises is a custom shop which manufactures and sells three WDTT models from 2000# TO 3500# capacity.
Pack Enterprises is proud to use only U S steel and US produced axles for fabrication of the WDTT.
The model that is recommended for each customer is determined by calculation of the carrying capacity needed.
Each WDTT is setup to the customer's specs and assembled and installed at the
Pack Enterprises facility in Altoona, IA
The WDTT is a multi-purpose suspension solution designed to get the customer's camper rig into label specs and improve driveability. If the vehicle has OEM suspension, the WDTT replaces the cost of suspension modifications.
Truck camper suspension upgrades enhance stability, handing, and ride quality when carrying a camper. They help level the truck, reduce sway, and improve overall control, especially with the added weight and height of a truck camper.
They do not change the truck GVWR.
An important feature of the WDTT is that it adds to the gross rig weight rating utilizing the WDTT GVWR of 2000# or 3500#, increasing the total truck camper rig carrying capacity.
The WDTT is effective with OEM suspension and may be the only suspension upgrade, modification or expense needed.
The WDTT reduces sag by redistributing the weight of the load, taking weight off the rear axle and moving it to the front axle and the tag.
(The teeter-totter effect)
The WDTT provides additional braking power and lights. It also serves as a hitch extension for towing trailers or carrying bike racks, etc.
The extra wheels and front-to-rear balance significantly improve the directional stability of the vehicle and reduce the sway and porpoise actions that many campers experience.
A high percentage of our customers use their truck camper vehicle to tow trailers for boats, atvs, cars, model planes, etc.
The WDTT replaces weight distribution hitch for heavy trailer towing and does not add weight to trailer.
Ultimate sway control is provided because of the tandem axle effect and the proximity of the hitch ball mount to the WDTT axle.
The WDTT provides additional braking power and serves as a hitch extension eliminating the need for an add-on extension .
SMALL TRUCK SOLUTIONS
Many owners of small trucks would like a truck camper but are limited by carrying capacity.
They often need to use their vehicle as a daily driver that will fit in their garage.
The WDTT provides additional carrying capacity with it's own GVWR - plus brakes and lights.
The WDTT can be removed between camping trips allowing return to OEM ride (if there are no other suspension modifications.)
